If the ticket price for major games was around forty dollars, the gate money would be four million dollars. Even that sum is insignificant, against those that broadcasting and other commercial organizations are willing to pay for exclusive contracts. It means that soccer is a global entertainment operation, with top directors, managers, and players, receiving payment equal to Hollywood stars, and movie moguls.

Global soccer has built up respect for all nations, but that hasn't been lacking some difficulties, during the process. Soccer players of all ethnic groups have become recognized entirely on merit, when they have been signed up by teams outside the country of their birth. The best players from Asia, Europe, South America, Australia, Africa the United States are idolized, and they are often transferred between clubs on the international circuit. This has done much in breaking down prejudiced racial abuses.

It is not easy to say why worldwide football has developed to be the sports giant it is today. You may wonder how it is that two teams of eleven players, passing a ball around for 90 minutes, with a short break in the middle, merit such zealous interest. It may be because there are young men and occasionally women, in great physical shape, who through their ability, show off ball skills in a sport that people have played at college and beyond. It provides a chance, to wonder what might have been, if only you had thought about sport as a career!
