Facts about how to make soccer moves
As sports fans will be aware, Association Football, which is also identified as soccer, or more generally football, is now the most popular
sport on earth. The United States have a different national game called football or American football that is quite different. North Americans do
play soccer as well, but lacking the passion they connect to their own style of play. Many attempts have been made to develop the global game in
their country, as yet they haven't been entirely successful, but it would be terrific if they joined the rest of the world.
Even though football has humble beginnings, there is more to the game than a new fan might initially consider. In simple terms a football match
comprises of eleven participants who face each other on a pitch, measuring approximately 100 yards long X 50 yards wide. The objective is to
score goals with any part of the body but not the hands, but generally the feet or the head. Opposing teams comprise of defenders, midfielders,
and attackers. A special kind of defender is called the goalkeeper, who is the only member of a team who is allowed to use his hands to prevent
the ball from entering the net.
Football's development is the outcome, not just from spectators packing into huge sports grounds through the ticket points, but also from media
cover, where fortunes are paid for the privilege of televising games. Since 1930 the most important award, the world cup, was won in more or less
equal measure by South American and European nations. International football is a a gigantic business. From gate money, to media rights,
sponsorships, to replica football gear, a mammoth sports business has arisen. Small boys and grown men, and some girls and women, yearn to wear
the shirts of their popular clubs or star players. Some kick balls around in playgrounds, wasteland, and even quiet roads.
Talented footballers are being discovered in various places that include, Australia, Africa, and Asia. Even in the USA, helped by their
successful hosting of the world cup in 1994. Surprisingly, the Glazers of Tampa Bay fame, have acquired Manchester United, famous as the worlds
wealthiest football club. It would be impossible to put a figure on the collective value of the major footballers, and the clubs they are
contracted to play for.
Not that long ago, boxing was one of the few sports, able to provide any hope of escape, from hopeless destitution. It might be considered that
football has created similar opportunities, and even though only a small number of candidates make the grade as highly paid footballers, they
outnumber those who become rich in the ring. All over the world young people from deprived backgrounds gather for football training. Some could
be discovered as being exceptionally gifted, and will be catapulted into rich living standards, to become football idols, of the sporting
world.
