Although horse racing is known as the Sport of Kings, soccer, or football,, is the King of Sports. The term soccer originated from from the
term 'association football', and at least assists to distinguish the international sport, from that played in North America. Teams of people have

game comprises of eleven members who contest against each other on a field of play, with dimensions of about 90 meters long x 45 meters wide. The
principle of the game is to score goals using any part of the body except the hands, but typically the feet or the head. Teams include attackers,
midfielders, and defenders. A special kind of defender is known as the goalkeeper, who is permitted to use his hands to prevent the ball from
entering the net.
This wide appeal of football is the outcome, not only from supporters packing into huge arenas through the ticket points, but also from TV
exposure, where fortunes are paid for the privilege of televising matches. Going back to 1930 the most important prize, the world cup, was won in
almost equivalent measure by South American and European countries. Intercontinental soccer is a very, very, big enterprise. From turnstile
receipts, to TV rights, well known sponsors, to copy football strips, a mammoth sports business has arisen. Grown men and small boys, and quite a
number of women and girls, yearn to wear the sports attire of their favourite clubs or footballers. Some dribble balls around in parks, waste
ground, and even quiet streets.
Intercontinental football has assisted with race relations, but that hasn't been lacking some difficulties, along the way. Footballers from all
ethnic groups have become recognized entirely on merit, when they have been signed up by teams outside the country of their birth. The best
players from Africa, Australia, the United States, Europe, Asia and South America are idolized, and they are regularly on the move on the
international circuit. Fortunately this has achieved a great deal in breaking down intolerant racial attitudes.
Youngsters, want to build that extra piece of skill, that will propel them into a world of riches, and recognition. The majority will settle for
different things, but rarely a young wizard will emerge, and astonish the sporting world with a talent which could be richly remunerated, in the
name of "The King of Sports".
