There is no easy answer as to why international football has expanded into the sports enterprise it now is. You may wonder how it is that two teams of eleven players, knocking a ball about for two 45 minute spells, with a fifteen-minute break part way through, get such fanatical interest. Possibly it is because there are young men and occasionally women, in the prime of their lives, who through their skill, present ball skills in a game that lots of people have played.
