Consider Soccer Rules In Germany
Horse racing is known as the Sport of Kings but soccer, or football,, is the King of Sports. The term soccer comes from from the term
'association football', and it serves to make a distinction between the global game, from the totally different ballgame played in the USA.
People have joined together to kick a ball, or other spherical object about, for centuries. Rules for the game, as we now understand it, were
decided in the United Kingdom, in the mid nineteenth century. Prior to this the game had a somewhat rough and violent reputation, to the extent
that it was forebidden at times, by royal decree.
Whilst football has its roots in the working class, the game is more intricate than a newcomer may think. In simple terms a football match
comprises of eleven members who face one another on a football ground, measuring around 90 meters long x 45 meters wide. The idea of the game is
to score goals by manipulating the ball into the opponents net, that is an area measuring 24 feet wide X 8 feet high. Teams include defenders,
midfielders, and attackers. A special kind of defender is called the goalkeeper, who is permitted to use his hands and arms to save goals.
Football arenas are fantastic, purpose built structures, that can contain many thousands of fans. If the ticket price for major games was about
$40, the gate money would be $4 million. Such sums are almost trivial, measured against what television and other companies are prepared to offer
for special deals. Clearly football is a vast entertainment operation, with senior directors, managers, and players, getting rewards equivalent
to movie stars, and movie moguls.
International football has been a great unifier but that hasn't been lacking some problems, during the process. Professionals from all
nationalities have become acclaimed entirely on merit, when they have transferred to teams outside the country of their birth. The best
footballers from Europe, South America, Asia, Australia, Africa and the United States are almost legendary, and they are often transferred
between clubs in the international football extravaganza. This has achieved a great deal in breaking down intolerant racial abuses.
Currently, there is much publicity, about young people not taking enough bodily exercise. We can be thankful then, that amongst young people,
knocking a ball about remains extremely fashionable. There are not many will go on to earn a living as professional footballers, but the vast
majority will maintain their interest, as football fans. Club supporters, from far and wide are able to track the progress of their chosen clubs,
and marvel at the talent of the privileged few players, who have been gifted the opportunity of accomplishing the thwarted objectives of so
many.
